SMART Cycling is the curriculum developed by the League of American Bicyclists and used by League Certified Instructors to teach cyclists how to avoid and mitigate risk while cycling in a variety of traffic conditions.
SMART Cycling classes typically span 16 hours over two days and include classroom sessions, parking lot drills and on the road segments. Attendees will learn how to identify and avoid the risks of cycling by practicing eight specific techniques. We’ll practice in a parking lot first, safe from traffic, and then we’ll take our show on the road.
